Cool/td-Active is a type of air cargo transportation offered by Lufthansa Cargo which supports the maintenance of an unbroken cool chain for temperature-sensitive cargo from a facility of origin through all the steps of air transportation up to delivery at the site of destination.

Under the Cool/td-Active brand, Lufthansa Cargo provides a comprehensive range of active cool-containers and special handling processes, backed up wherever possible by specific infrastructure and trained personnel. This setup allows the goods inside the cool-containers to travel in a constant temperature band throughout the entire journey.

During the entire transportation chain, the cargo stays in specifically designed, actively temperature-controlling cool-containers which can be provided by Lufthansa Cargo. While in the custody and care of Lufthansa Cargo, the containers are handled according to tailor-made processes, including specific infrastructure and trained personnel wherever possible in the context of an air cargo service.

Cool/td-Active is the transport solution for all kind of temperature-sensitive commodities being fowarded in cool-containers such as: Pharmaceuticals, diagnostics, vaccines, sera, plasma, proteins clinical trials, biotechnological material, exclusive food (e.g. chilled food, seafood, diary products, convenient fruit), and any kind of temperature-sensitive high tech equipment (e.g. semiconductors)

Cool/td-Active is offered on selected stations of the Lufthansa Cargo Network and on determined routings of Austrian Airlines marketed by Lufthansa Cargo only.
