Cool/td-Passive is a type of air cargo transportation which is designed to support the specific needs of the transportation of temperature-sensitive products in 'passive' packaging solutions. This refers to specialized thermal packaging which has been approved as suitable to prevent temperature changes on the inside for limited periods of time, despite varying external climate scenarios.

Under the Cool/td-Passive brand, Lufthansa Cargo provides a range of special processes, backed up wherever possible by specific infrastructure and trained personnell, to allow that passively packaged cargo is handled under conditions which will not compromise the ability of the packaging to safeguard the product within.

Cool/td-Passive is the service for temperature-sensitive pharmaceuticals, diagnostics, vaccines, sera, plasma, proteins, clinical trials, biotechnological material as well as any temperature sensitive high-tech goods.
